Looking for experts in press digitisation!
Dear friends, the Holodomor Museum is launching a new project to digitise the press of the Ukrainian SSR during the Holodomor period from the collections of the V. I. Vernadsky National Library of Ukraine. We are currently looking for experts with the appropriate equipment who can assist with this!
A tender for the provision of services to digitise the press of the Ukrainian SSR from the Holodomor period, held in the collections of the V. I. Vernadsky National Library of Ukraine has been announced by our partners at Cowater International Inc. and the Canada-Ukraine Foundation, who are implementing the international technical assistance for the Support for the Exhibits of the National Museum of the Holodomor-Genocide in Ukraine project, funded by the Global Affairs Canada (GAC).
The procurement aims to create digital copies of periodicals from 1929–1934, which contain important sources for researching the history of the Holodomor and preserving Ukraine’s cultural heritage.
The work involves the secure digitisation of newspaper collections on the library’s premises, text recognition, quality control of the digital copies, and the transfer of the results to the National Museum of the Holodomor-Genocide and the V. I. Vernadsky National Library of Ukraine.
We invite participants with the appropriate equipment, software, qualified staff and proven experience in the digitisation of archival, library or museum materials to participate in the tender.
The deadline for submitting preliminary proposals is 23:59 on 2 August 2026.
Please send proposals or enquiries to: [email protected]. Please indicate in the subject line: RFP 074 [Company name].
